Thompson Brushes line of strip brushes are made by filling a metal channel continuously with fibres as required. A centre retaining wire locks the fibres when the channel is closed. For the most rigorous demands, we manufacture “tanged” strip in which the wire is locked, and the fibres prevented from moving, by tangs punched in the strip.
Strip Brush is made to order, so that virtually the full range of material options is available. Basic sizes are 4mm, 8mm and 12mm wide, for which machines are normally set up. Tooling is available to produce 3.3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14mm.
The machines are most economical for long, continuous runs. Production of as little as 1 metre is possible but the costs for setup, adjustment and handling will be reflected in the price. Straight strip is supplied cut-to-length from approximately 50mm upwards, to maximum shipping length 4 metres.
Thompson Brushes operates a number of these machines, purpose built to favour different ranges of strip size.
